 This boy.  This man.  This youngest son of mine turns 40 yrs old today.  I know I'm always unbelieving when my children age in years...aren't we all?!  But this...this trip around the sun for my baby boy??  Well....just a little hard to swallow!!!  As I sit here and ponder the life we've shared together, a huge smile comes across my face!

My son is a source of immense pride, joy, and unconditional love, anchoring his parent's lives while forging his own, often serving as a bridge between generations and a reminder of the best in ourselves!!

Tilling up the potato rows in the garden a few days ago..

Days spent chilling with your boys!

And days spent chillin' with your grandchildren!

And getting some one on one time while helping to teach those grandkids the art of your favorite passion..hunting! (had 2 more this season join him and 2 more waiting to get old enough to join!)

Baby Lane....as we all used to call him because he is the caboose of our grandchild train...

But no more Baby Lane now because today, he is 10!!

He is the sweetest boy and is always smiling, always loving and always MOVING..

he is a football, baseball and basketball player. 

Just look at all the things he loves!

His brother, his dad, his cousins, his uncles and his Cap'n!!

Hanging with his "girl cousins"  and YaYa too!!

Swimming with them!

Playing baseball..

And going to baseball games!!!

Beaching!!!

But, of all of life's fun adventures, ...  his LOVE for his family is the best one!!

 I really have Deja Vu moments of the cycle of life with this grandchild....because he looks JUST LIKE his dad did at this age....his dad being my oldest son! 

More times than not, I find myself calling Austin...Chad...and I never think twice about it because I feel like I'm re-living my life all over again.  Which, of course, is a very fun thing to do.....WITHOUT the responsibility of raising this one!!!  You know - the grandchild thing!!!!

Except today.....he's 14!

And cuter,,,more handsome... than ever!

And he's very involved in LIFE!

FISHING???? HAHAHA...don't think he ever got that line untangled!!
