MY OLDEST BABY BOY...AND HIS BIRTHDAY...

 ...begins our year of family birthdays...and funny, because his birthday falls on December 31st, the last day of the year....you know...that "other" reason most people celebrate!!!

It was a dark and chilly night in Baton Rouge, LA  at 6:57pm when the most beautiful 7lb 12oz boy entered our world and changed our lives forever!  (not to mention the drs and nurses whose New Yrs Eve plans got changed!) And I guess one of these days I'm going to have to stop calling my sons "baby boys"...but NOT today!!

Besides the fact that he is beautifully handsome.....he's also the best husband..

...and father!

I am so proud to be his MOM!!!

IT'S A BIRTHDAY FOR MATTHEW LEE TODAY!

 

OMGOSH!!!  I ran across this photo not long ago and WOW! is all I can say...that's the birthday boy that the arrow is pointing to and his big brother behind him and his dad as a coach on the right!!!

TIME DEFINITELY FLIES!

WOW!

There is SO much I could say about this boy/man but it would fill a book.  He's my middle son and he's my heart 💗!

He's a worker and a farmer and a deer camp caretaker.  He's a chef and a hunter and he loves his mom!!!!  He shows me just about every day!

But most importantly, he's a husband to the love of his life!

And he's a DAD!  To 2 of the sweetest girls in the world! (ahem...my sweet granddaughters!) 

To say his passion in doing things he loves with these girls is putting it mildly...he LOVES teaching and guiding and loving his girls!!  They are the only things that can put his love for hunting and fishing and cooking and farming on the back burner.....unless he's doing all that WITH THEM!!!

From 9th grade dance Dad...

to 6th grade pep squad Dad...

It's obvious that the most important thing to him is…

HIS FAMILY!!

HEY CASE.....HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY TODAY!!

 Oh....this boy!!  WHAT a kind, sweet and happy go lucky boy this guy is!!!  When I think of Case, I think of his mellow disposition and his willingness to please.  Oh and the respect he shows to everyone.  Always!!

He enjoys his time hunting at the deer camp with everyone!

Not to mention how smart he is and can give you any fact about history that you may need to know...especially military history!

He loves to hang out with his cousins when they all gather!!

Most of  all.....he really loves his family!!

IT'S NUMBER 48 TODAY!!

 Years, that is!  What is this world coming to?   Unrest in our country...in the world. A pandemic that was as bad for bodies as well as spirits.  Sadness and grief and questions about our futures.....yet, in the midst of all of this angst...what has survived??  The proclamation that on June 25, 1977  we were proclaimed husband and wife!  And we've been by each other's sides protecting one another and standing in solidarity and loving each other for the past 48 yrs!

And it started with this in 1975!

WHAT babies we were!!

Thru the years.....

Because I'm a bit obsessed with angel numbers, I had to look up what the number 48 stands for:

 "Angel number 48 is seen as a sign of encouragement for stability and abundance, suggesting that hard work will lead to success. It can also be associated with passion and determination" !!!

          

                               I'd say that pretty well sums up our marriage!!!

Our Father's Day.....Cap'n!!

 Even tho Father's Day was last Sunday.....it's always Father's Day around here...even if I'm just now getting this post up.  😕

So many years of being a father teaching his children through his life experiences will hopefully always be in my son's hearts!

Even though they are grown men now, I will always see 3 little boys following their dad around the hunting fields..and anywhere else he was!!!

And when I witness the wonderful fathers they've become, I know our Cap'n did his job well!

He's grandfather to this crazy bunch of lovelies!

And father, grandfather, father in law and husband to this bunch of crazies!!!!

But guess who is also really happy he's her father???

Ms. PoppyPearl worships the ground he walks on!

Happy Father's Day to you (even tho you had to dig holes for me to plant my plants 😘)!!!

       TODAY'S YOUR DAY TO CELEBRATE YOUR VERY SPECIAL MOMENT IN TIME!!!

Who knew on this day...some 40 something (see how I did that???!!!) years ago, that in 2025, you would be a wife to my son, a mom to my most precious grandchildren....and one of the best friends I've ever had???   WOW!  Makes me love this day as much as you love it!!!

She's always doing something fun with these two crazy kids!!!

Who just so happen to be the loves of her life!!!!

KATIE IS 12 TODAY!!!!!

 Oh, how our grandbabies are all growing up.....happy to see them flourish but a leetle sad to lose those little ones who were so full of wonder and with only smiles for the world we live in!!  Bittersweet when their birthdays roll around and the yrs have gone by in a flash!!!

But really?????  How can we not remember THIS and not have our hearts explode???
