Maybe it's New Yrs Eve to Most...But Around Here, it's My Firstborn's Happy Birthday!!

 

I know I'm his mom and a wee bit biased, but this boy is just beautiful!!!  Always has been!

He lives in another state so I don't get to "have him and enjoy him" as often as I'd like but when I do....well, it's just joy!

He's a baseball dad and a soccer dad at all times when he's not working!

He spent some time with us at the lake watching these crazies ski and knee board and tube!!

Ok....seriously, I have no excuses.  I've just been living life around here enjoying the little things. Sometimes, very busy and sometimes just lazy!

I'm afraid I'm watching too much news and getting sadder by the day about the state of our world.

Yet, informed is way better than sticking my head in the sand pretending we're all living in la-la land.

I pray daily for peace.

My lil family stays busy and it seems like they (gkids) are growing like weeds.  Our baby Lane is now

7 so he's really not a baby....but always will be in our minds.  Lilli, our oldest, is now 13!!!!! and living life to the fullest!   Where, oh where has our time gone??

2 weekends ago, we were all in different places having fun...

Cap'n and I went to McKinney for Austin's ball games, then to Plano for Josey's soccer game and back to McKinney for Austin's second game.  He pitched!! and Josey made a big goal!!

While we were there, my middle boy's family was making their way back from the Dominican Republic for a fall break get-away!

And baby boy's family was cheering on our Tigers at Death Valley beating Auburn!!

So, between baseball tournaments every weekend for the Chad's and 1 million teenagers being at the Matt's house and football games and hunting and building the Josh's forever home while going to Lane's flag football games...we've had a hard time all meeting up at the same time at deer camp for our fall get together  😔

But hunting season did begin with dove season in Sept.

and it really kicks into gear in November.  I'm already planning menus for Thanksgiving 😎

Last week, we went on our annual pumpkin shoot .... been going for 13 years...and we always miss our other family from Plano but because we usually go after school, they usually can't make it...

Meanwhile back at home, ms. poppypearl was saying...."Mom, plz take me for another ride!!"

 

Happy Birthday Mr. Case!! He's 10!!!

 **have edited this post because YaYa didn't hit the publish button on the morning of his birthday,  July 1st!  I always write birthday posts the night before their special day and then just hit publish early ON their birthday morning.....only this time, OLD YaYa forgot to hit the button 😓.  So, I'm posting this today IN HIS HONOR.  The good thing about being so forgetful this time is that now I can add some pics from his trip to the Bahamas that they just got home from last weekend.  See?  Lemons to Lemonade!!

WHAT??????   He was just a babyboy only days ago - and now, he's 10 yrs old!!!

This kid is SMART!  I mean, really smart and he knows a lil bit about everything. I'm always on my toes when I talk to him because I think he knows way more than me. He's just so interested in so many different aspects of this thing we call Life.  Seriously!

Not so sure how much he loved the actual potato digging...but having his brother and cousins help made it more fun!

He is the 4th in this group of 6 grandchildren....they really have fun together.  Hope they grow old together!!

My Middle Boy Has A Birthday Today!!!

 Today is Matt's special day.....July 20, 1981....What a special day that was!!!  What a special boy he was and what a special man he is today!!!  FAMILY is what is important to him.  Well...and hunting!!  But in that order!  He is constantly surrounded by those who love him most...

From digging potatoes in Cap'ns garden...

to teaching them how to shell purple hull peas!!

to cooking crawfish for every family boil!!

Not to mention teaching them everything about HIS garden too....roses, blackberries, grapes, tomatoes, squash....just about every vegetable and fruit there is to grow...he's taught them how to do it all...TOGETHER!!

But one of my favorite pics is the one of him surrounded by all the cousins at the beach...because he lets everyone of them take a turn fishing, which of course turns him into the most fun uncle ever!!!
