45 (WOW) years ago, on this 25th day of June, we vowed to love one another till death do us part! 45 years is a LONG time and we’re keeping on keeping on!! The magic continues…..
I sure hope you know how special you are to your whole family!! You do everything in your power to protect us, provide for us, teach us and guide us. We may not always seem to listen closely enough but be assured we hear you and appreciate all you do for us. Every dingle dangle day!!
Father to your sons....who love you and admire you!
And appreciate you for guiding them in their work paths!!!
Father-In-Law to your 3 crazy daughter in laws....who truly adore you and appreciate all you do for them!!
Grandfather to 6 beautiful grandchildren!!
Who hunts with them....
Cooks for them...
Grows food in a magnificent garden for them!
Teaches them how to ski!
and learn "other stuff" at the lake!!
Teaches them how to harvest potatoes from the garden!
And PoppyPearl thinks you're just about the coolest dad in all the land!!!
So, have a Happy Happy Father's Day...chill at the lake (don't work on sprinklers!), watch college world series and remember to let your eyes wander up the river since it won't be counted against your life span!!!
Actually, Cap'n & I took off a few days early to go down to Fort Morgan Beach to stay a few days with our buddies from home. They bought a new beach house this yr and since they were there the same time we were going, we jumped at the opportunity to spend some time with them. They often sailed with us on Blew Bayou thru different countries and we always have such fun together!
the newly retired dr steve also got himself a new boat for his beaching adventures and he and Cap'n took it out for some time on the water
while julie and I stayed back and did what we do best!!
Soon it was time to head toward our beach house for the week with family
We love our time there because it is peaceful and quiet and we really do not even hardly go into town.
We make a big grocery run and I cook casseroles. We grill hamburgers and steaks and Cap'n always makes his special shrimp/oyster dish one night. No one worries. Time kind of stands still while we watch those kids play and play and play together. One afternoon, the water was so calm and clear, that most all of us got in the gulf with the kids and we had the best time.
I definitely closed my eyes and made a memory of that moment....one I surely will never forget!!
My middle boy, who is the fisherman in the family, does this most of the time
the kid's goody bags were filled with all things tie-dye this year!
Big kids did a lot of this beach sitting and sitting on the long porch on back of house
Swimming pool under the house which was nice for it was in the shade..
Lots of chirren gathered around the island for meals!
and of course, night time sand crabbing
Even PoppyPearl wanted to go!
It's getting harder and harder to find a week when everyone can get there at same time.
Baseball games and practice, everyone's schools are on different schedules, work commitments...
I always tell them...I'll take whatever I can get!!!
Now, I just have to have a photo dump of the most beautiful children in all the land!!
I so hope that the times spent together on these family trips will remain with my grandchildren forever!!
They all truly love each other!! 💕💕💕
And we bid farewell to another summer adventure....
