Hunting and Pride at its Best!!!

There have been some huge hearts around here the last few weeks!!!  I've often talked about the love of hunting that my husband and sons have always had in their hearts....and well...now, they are finding a new love.  The pride they are having watching their own children now love the hunt like they do!!!

Last weekend, ms. Lillian Leigh got her first deer....OH WAIT...her first TWO deer!!!!

Can you see the ear to ear smiles on Dad and Granddad's faces??!!!!

The very next day, our grandson Case, got his first deer!!!
That's a pretty happy boy right there with an even happier Dad beside him!

This weekend, Lilli's mom and sister had an out of town wedding and she asked if she could stay with Dad and go duck hunting. (I think she's hooked!)  And just look what happened this morning!
They are having so much fun!

This is the legacy that we've wanted to leave our children....Cap'n has provided a beautiful deer camp with the most gorgeous acreage that affords all of us to gather and hunt and just be together as families. To learn the appreciation of nature and being able to learn the skill of gun safety and hunting rules.
I see the way my boys still hunt together with their dad and now are raising their children to love it just as much!  A tradition that will live on from generation to generation.  And that makes us VERY happy!!!
My favorite posed picture that they take every season for me...and now the grandchildren will be a part of this beautiful scene!
The light at sunrise .... see the setting moon behind them?...gives a glow to all.
My husband, two of my sons and my first grandchild!
I think the torch is being, not passed down - but shared - just as it should be!!!

We're all looking forward to a fun Thanksgiving celebrated at the deer camp - where there will be a lot of good food, good drinks and I'm sure more than ever now.....a lot of hunting!
Family and Friends giving thanks for the love we share in the most beautiful setting!!

HOPING ALL OF YOU HAVE A VERY PEACEFUL AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Autumn Around the Ol' Ponderosa!!!

Boy....has my family been harassing me about not keeping my blog current....I know...I know!!! Mah bad!
So.............what's been going on around here???  Let's take a look 👀

Come on in!
Colors of the season are all around us!
Even in early October, the trees at the lake were beginning to do their thing!

October brought us:
An impromptu weekend at the deer camp!! wooohoo!
(the Matt family was traveling to her family's home for a visit, so they couldn't be there..😥)
the boy cousins hanging out..
Snugglin' with Case!
Case building the fire at sunset for s'mores!

October also brought us:
A garden full of fresh vegetables!!!!
Cap'n isn't going to let US go hungry when the grocery stores run out of food!!!
Butter lettuce, red curly lettuce and the best spinach you've ever eaten!!
broccoli
radishes
corn
beets and carrots!!!

Then there was Halloween:
there were sweet black cats!
and some kinda scary neon green thing!

action figures and policeman!

there were also dragons! (I think!)
Lilli is our almost professional artist and she made both of these masks for she and Katiejane to wear!

even ol' dad got into the pumpkin patch!
We have been taking pics at this same pumpkin patch since first grandchild was born...just look at the pic like this we took in 2015...

the bottom of this collage is in same prop as the one above with Lilli and katiejane....they're growing up so fast.....snff, sniff....
(we didn't have babyLane yet in pic above!)

Just a few more pics from October...
Katiejane is still being home schooled and she has been cooking up a storm as part of her Home Economics class!!! 💓
Lunch with the girls!
Of course, an update on PoppyPearl.....she's perfection!

Austin & Josey spent the night and they made Monkey Bread....

later that night....josey cheered at a football game which is her mom&dad's alma mater
Austin wearing his Big Daddy's (grandpa) jersey that he wore in high school back in the day at the same high school!

Fall has been a good time around here....and we finally have some cooler temperatures...
Next up????   TURKEY DAY!!!!!!
