Get Ready Sandy Beach....

 It's been 2 yrs since we were able to do our beach trip....

HERE WE COME!!!

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DAUGHTER IN LAW #1....SWEET RACHEL!!

 Yes, she is married to my firstborn son and is truly a daughter to us!  She's been around a long, long time.. since they were in high school and who knew that after a crazy day and "conversation" on the baseball field some 24 yrs ago.....heheheh....more like a showdown between girlfriend and mother of boyfriend...that we would end up where we are today!!!  I not only call her a daughter but also the mother of two of my grandbabies and the love of my son's life.....but I also call her one of  my best friends!!!  We've had many many crazy times together and man, oh man....I sure hope that continues until my last days around here!!

OH!!!!! and did I mention this is her 40th birthday??!!!!!!

and the funny ending to this story is that now SHE is a baseball mom sitting at that field 

for every practice and every game.  And will know how to handle any "conversations" that may come her way!!!!

(I know she's laughing and laughing reading this!!!!)

Our Rachel always makes us laugh and feel good about the world and what's going on these days. She handled the year of Covid like a pro, teaching her children from home and protecting them like the mama bear that she is.  Made us all proud!

She is everyone's happy friend and we love her unconditionally!!!!

And that light touches your whole family!!!

McCormick Farms!

 That title is kind of a lil joke...my friends will call on a Sunday afternoon and ask if the Farm is open for business.  Hell, yeah...I say, Come On!  See?? Cap'n plants ALOT of veggies and no way can our family eat all of it.  So we love it when friends bring their boots and bags and pick all they want of lettuce, spinach, beets, mustard greens, radishes, carrots and turnips...from the raised beds of winter gardens!  And wait with me for those summer goodies....tomatoes, do ya hear me??

He has put some winter veggies out in the big garden too which are ripe and ready for eatin'!

He's got squash, peppers, cucumbers, purple hull peas, corn, beans, watermelon and cantaloupe planted as well!!!!  WoooooHooooo!

My little herb garden is doing well too!

Dill, cilantro, basil, garlic chives, honeydew and pineapple sage, rosemary and tarragon!

(notice it's right outside my front door so I don't even have to walk far to gather some for cooking!)

and my back sidewalk flower bed is coming up roses and impatiens too!

(haven't gotten mulch on yet..)

this broccoli is so good that I didn't even get back to house before I took a bite...on Cap'n's suggestion!!!!    SO GOOD!!!

just picked radishes for Spinach Strawberry salad tonight that was toooooo good as well!!!

Need to post the recipe.  Homemade dressing that called for poppy seeds but I used ground ginger instead.....it was delicious!!!

Back to the Beach!!!!

For someone who loves to jump on a plane whenever anybody says Let's Go!...2020 was a tough year because jumping on that plane was impossible.  (whoever thought those words would be a part of our everyday vocabulary????)

So this sight was a little bit magical to me again!

My galpals and I were headed to our fave place.....especially since one of those galpals just finished renovating her brand new beach house!!  Which makes for such a fun trip IN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HOME!!!

Lemme tell ya....life was tough right here....NOT!!!!

Wish I could sit here and tell you all the things we did and saw while there.....but alas....I can't. Cuz we did NUTHIN' but relax on the beach, soak up the sun, listen to the waves in wonder of God's creation, laugh, read and have a few cocktails...pina coladas anyone???!!!

We did have to make the road trip one afternoon down to Seaside to partake in my one request....crab cakes from Bud and Alley's!

So.......all I got is landscapes..Enjoy!

While I was away, lil ms PoppyPearl was staying with her daddy....

going to work with him everyday!!!

Our sunsets were beautiful every night....

which then, in turn, gave us beautiful moonlit nights.

This one being the full pink moon....just beautiful!!
