I have been really terrible about taking pictures this spring. Been busy cleaning up all the outside areas and trying to get flower beds cleaned out and plants bought for re-planting. We lost so much this year because of the harsh winter. Our area is just not used to snow for a week, ice and temps in the one digits!!!!
We had jasmine planted on the pergola around the pool which ran all the way around the fencing, providing a lot of privacy. What took 15 yrs to grow ... took about 30 minutes to cut down with a chainsaw because it was all dead. Insert very sad face here....
that pergola and all empty spaces on fence used to be covered with the most magnificent, sweet smelling jasmine. We've replanted and pray for quick growth. Also lost all my 5ft tall gardenias and most of the azaleas.
This is the south, people!!!! Where azaleas bloom like cotton candy and gardenias smell like the ice cream truck!! Our plants live forever.....until this year! Whatever it is that's happening to our world is getting a bit ridiculous.....really!
A trip to the plant nursery with my granddaughters was a delight tho!!
It's the little things that I cherish the most these days...
Cap'n's garden is being tended to with the utmost care everyday around here. I will update this post with new pics of ALL of his work next week. We've been eating out of the garden all winter long with carrots, beets, radishes, mustard greens, spinach, broccoli and fresh lettuce!
Before we know it, the tomatoes, squash, zucchini, corn, peas, beans, cantaloupe and watermelons will be popping their heads up!!!
I'm ready for some 'mater sammiches!!!!
Back soon with updated pics!!!
