My Baby Boy is Having a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

February 14th is my youngest son's celebration day.....NOT valentine's day around here!!!! (not so easy for grandbabies to understand that!!!)  When he was growing up, I didn't dare have any red hearts or cupids out on HIS day.....so funny remembering that!!

Even tho he is a grown man now, when I see his face and those sweet eyes....all I really see is that little boy who has been the glow of happiness in our family!!!

And now he has his own family with two little boys who are the apple of his eye!
Their family is precious!

This guy works so hard for the company and for his family so it makes me happy when he takes time out for fun too....which as you know in our family, means hunting !

But maybe the thing he works hardest on is his homeplace!  He is SO happy to have his own land and happy home on it...a place for his boys to play and roam and have adventures on. Their mom has chickens, which keeps us laughing all the time, as well as always being provided with delicious, fresh eggs..straight from the coop!!!
He has done all the work there to make it a beautiful place....makes me so proud of him and for him!!
TALL TIMBERS  est. 2019-20!!

“There is more to a boy than what his mother sees. There is more to a boy then what his father dreams. Inside every boy lies a heart that beats. And sometimes it screams, refusing to take defeat. And sometimes his father's dreams aren't big enough, and sometimes his mother's vision isn't long enough. And sometimes the boy has to dream his own dreams and break through the clouds with his own sunbeams.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!!

2020 ..... ONE FOR THE BOOKS....Our Diary!

For the 11th yr in a row, I've had my blog published into a book for each of our families.  Because my blog is actually a diary of our lives together, I like to make each year into a hard copy for them to keep forever. (and who knows how much longer Blogger will last!) One day, I think our grandchildren will enjoy reading back over the happenings in our lives when they were younger.

I began blogging in 2005 when we were sailing the wide open seas as a way for our kids to keep up with where we were and when.  There were some years when Cap'n was gone for 3-4 months at a time, with me joining him for weeks during those months.  Sometimes there wasn't much means of communication from the ocean and the blog was a way to post pics and keep them informed. That blog continued on until 2009 when I changed over to a new blog that was "land oriented" with our families. Grands started arriving in 2010!!!  And our sailing adventures ended in 2014 when we sold our sweet Blew Bayou catamaran!!

I have to admit that the 2020 book is quite small compared to previous years.....I just haven't had that much to write about because well.....you know.....we didn't do much and didn't get to see or be with people..or even family very much.  Quarantine tends to be very boring and lonely, as all of you know.

But ironically, the 2020 book may be the most important ... making sure that the young kids and all of us have a stark reminder of a time in our lives unlike any other in our lifetimes.

Happy Birthday Cap'n!!!

Today marks a special day for it is the celebration of Cap'n.....our husband, father and grandfather!  He has kept us all somewhat "sane" this year during the quarantine just by his reassurance of his love for family.  All of us know that in hard times or easy times, he is always there to guide us...educate us...and provide for us!!  And none of that goes unappreciated.

Just look what he did this past year in order to make sure this family never ran out of food...even during a pandemic.  What began as a raised garden to plant some veggies....

soon grew into a bit "more" of a garden, capable of feeding 4 families.....and more!
He worked every afternoon on this venture and had finished products of every imaginable vegetable..squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, purple hull peas, green beans, every kind of pepper, broccoli, cabbage, mustard greens, collard greens, garlic, onions, beets, carrots, radishes, 3 or 4 different types of lettuce......watermelons, cantaloupes and pumpkins!!!!!
(I'm sure I've forgotten some..)
YES!!!!  He definitely worked hard to feed his family!

He also became a new father again this year...
and has fallen IN LOVE with his new girl....ms. poppypearl!

And he continues to share his love of hunting with his boys and now, his grandchildren!

WE LOVE YA CAP'N AND HOPE YOUR DAY IS AS SPECIAL AS YOU ARE TO US!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Baby Lane is NOT a Baby Anymore.....He's 5 Today!!!!

He's our youngest grandchild.  He's the youngest cousin.  His is my youngest son's baby.....there I go again, referring to Lane as a baby.....sigh***.  He may be growing up but to me and all the rest of our family, he's always gonna be Baby Lane!!!!

I have to say, too, that this kid is the funniest little boy around!!!  His smile is contagious and when he's not cracking us UP with his antics....he's ALWAYS smiling!!  Always happy!!

In the woods!
In the boat!
In the bed sleeping with his new puppy, River!
In the tractor with his dad!
With his family!!

No matter what he's doing or who he is with......this little man is a joy to be with.  So kind!!

And ask me how my heart melts every time I see this pic.....

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY LANE...WE LOVE YOU!!!

AUSTIN REX IS 9 TODAY!!!

My first grandson, who looks so much like his dad looked growing up, is turning 9 today.  How is that possible??

That happy go lucky lil boy who always had a smile on his face, as an infant and toddler, is growing up so quickly and continues to put smiles on my face ALL THE TIME!
Maybe because I had 3 sons, the birth of this first grandSON was so special.
Even tho he has not been able to go to his "real" school or play all of the sports that he so loves this past year, he still is so happy and fills our lives up so completely.

He has been able to hunt a little bit with his dad and uncles, grandfather and cousin Lilli, which is always special!
His dad is teaching him how to play chess!
He loves to play outside at home and at the deer camp..
with cousins!
and his prized babygirl...LULU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN REX....WE LOVE YOU!!

and I am his YAYA!!!!
