Happy Birthday Sweet Lilli!!!!

 My first granddaughter is 11 yrs old today!!!!  She can't even count on two hands anymore how old she is...sniffle, sniffle!  She's growing up right before our eyes even tho it only seems like yesterday since we used to do things like this together!!

and now she is even more precious with a beautiful smile and a heart that is even more precious!

Her hobbies are diverse:

proud mama to a small dinosaur!

her bearded dragon all dressed up.....as well as about 400 other types of animals and fish!!

a farmer in learning from her dad!

a hunter who is following some more of her dad's footsteps!

not to mention the apple of his eye!!!

and also the coolest big sister in town!!

Her celebration was last weekend and her mom planned the most awesome party with her friends!!

You see.....it's been since last March that she was able to have friends come to her brand new house so her mom set up a movie party outside so no one would have to be inside.  It looked like a real live movie theatre and all the girls had a blast!

Winding Down ...

 The end of January marks the end of hunting season for the year.  It begins the first of September right around Labor Day and each weekend is usually marked with a different type of hunting.  And my boys do them all!!!  As I've mentioned here before, this is a special time for the boys in my family.  Their dad taught them at a very early age, the hunting game.  It became a ritual just as it was for my husband and his brothers when they were growing up.  And yes, the fact that all of our freezers get filled for the rest of the year...everything they hunt is consumed...is important but more than all of that, it is a bonding time for the brothers and their dad and now the grandchildren!!!  The deer camp is such a happy place for everyone!!

Here are the results of their hunt this weekend....the smiles on their faces is what makes my heart smile!

Hey Hay!!! Happy Happy Birthday!!!!

So, today is our Hailey's Happy Birthday and we can't be Happier!!!

And we say CHEERS to that!!!

It's hard this year making my happy birthday posts because I always like to use pics from our past year together...but because this year we were hardly able to be together...I don't have many family pics this yr.....(insert sad face here😥)

But she celebrated her family all yr long and also moved into her new home on the most gorgeous piece of property in all the land!!

She is the BEST and cutest wife to my baby boy!!

And the most FUN friend and aunt any nephews and nieces could ever hope for!!!

I was lucky enough to have snuck over to the birthday's girl's house to jump into the parade line on Sunday in celebration of my youngest granddaughter's 6th birthday!!!

Her mom had the yard decorated so cute!!  She had one table decked out for cups of hot chocolate and the most adorable marshmallows for the kids!

Each child got a party favor.....a bag of hot chocolate, marshmallows and a tiny lil bottle of hand sanitizer!!!!  SO 2020!!

this table was for the adults and had hot coffee and tiny lil bottles of Baileys!! and doughnut holes!!

It was just a drive by parade and everyone had masks on.....whoever thought there would be a day when adults and 6yr olds would all have a mask on??

After the parade, I gave her our gift of the American doll and accessories she has been wanting!

and a little bit of cash to put in her piggy bank!!! (or, which I found out later.....to buy some new ballet clothes!!)

This morning, which is her actual birthday, she woke up to her birthday chair....

and one more birthday cake!!!!!  Really?? who can ever have TOO much birthday cake???!

I'm always amazed at the creative ways these moms are coming up with to make sure their children don't have to suffer too much on their special days because of not attending "real" school with all of their friends.  

(I have three very special daughter in laws who are the best moms EVER!!)

My usual post for the first day of the year!!!

My friend, Virginia, gave me this quote ... oh prolly 20 yrs ago now...and it always goes straight to my heart.  It's so true.

Let's stop looking for things that we've done wrong or things that have gone wrong..but for things we anticipate in the here and now.  Or tomorrow.  Let's try harder to be nicer.  To be more understanding. To be more patient.  To realize that we have so much potential for a great, fun and successful life if we only live true to ourselves and allow our lives to flow...no matter what obstacles come our way!

Think positive!!!
