Wha???????????? Forty Three...as in 43???

When you have to get your calculator out to subtract your wedding year from this year....

2020 - 1977 = 43     june 25, 1977  2pm
that means you've been married for a long, long time!!!!!!!     WOW!!!!

We've learned alot.
We've laughed alot.
We've cried alot.
We've laughed a whole lot more!

It's been a wild, incredible ride and I have a feeling there's more to come...we just do it a lil bit slower these days and appreciate everything a whole lot more!!!!!

happy anniversary to my crazy husband and

Happy Father's Day Cap'n!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to our number 1 dad around here......and you know this year, he's a NEW dad!!!
He's a little bit of everything to all of us....

He's a LOVER of central american street food!
He's a sailboat cap'n who loves to dance on the front of the boat!
He's a farmer who watches his garden grow every day!
He's a grandfather to 6 beautiful kids!
and takes all of us to the beach every year....(except this yr because of quarantine) which is a memory that those kids will never forget!

But I have to say, the most beautiful thing about him is the father he's been to my sons!!
They grew up learning, hunting, baseballing and golfing with him right beside them ...and  I even glimpse small moments of him IN my sons as they raise their children!!
And he's their friend...

“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person: He believed in me.” – Jim Valvano

HAPPY CORONA QUARANTINED FATHER'S DAY TO YOU CAP'N!!!

Squash Dish #1...and Blueberries!

Since our garden is growing.....Cap'n spends every dingle dangle day in that garden of his....weeding, hoeing (easy my friends!) watering and picking!  Seriously....he is working his you know what off.  And the finished products are beginning to pile in so you know what that means....mama is starting to freeze, can, pickle and anything else you can do to fresh veggies.

PoppyPearl running as fast as she can thru the garden rows!!!
Notice the "no weed" area???  That cap'n has been workin' hard, I tell ya!
So, I've decided to keep record of all the dishes I make using the veggies from the garden.
First up:  Squash, Zucchini and Cornbread dressing!
Daughter in laws....this recipe is in your family recipe book!

I also pickled some squash yesterday but forgot to take pics.  Will add later.
and looky what else will be ready soon!!!
We've never grown watermelons before and I'm very excited about this!!
There is also a row of cantaloupe singing a song out there too!

Last week also brought an opportunity to visit the Pick All You Can Blueberry Farm...

I came home with a bucketful I picked and a bucketful of frozen that I bought from the farm!
So, now I feel like a squirrel with nuts in the ground...only my nuts are 12 quart bags of fresh blueberries in my freezer!!  YUM!

Between still staying home every day....putting up fresh veggies and cooking them...I'm fnding time to also do a little of this!!
by day....
and looking at this by night!
I think it was last Tuesday night....the most glorious moon was out with a golden red blur around it. When I looked up, it took my breath away!  Beautiful signs in nature that our world is still a little intact.

Off now to gaze at the strawberry moon tonight!!
