My first grandbaby is TEN today.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILLI!!!

Oh....how can that be????  What a soft, cuddly, pink fluff of love she was at birth!!  Always smiling. Always happy. Always a joy to snuggle with.  And  then she began to grow up.  And is growing into the smartest and sweetest... tho, still the same fluff of love she always has been.  It's harder to have her sit in my lap any more since she will soon be as tall as I am but I will still steal her cuddles any time I can get them!!

She is celebrating her special day with cousins and a sleepover of girlfriends...see? she really is growing up too fast.....and having a brand new puppy in the house too!!

Being the mom to three sons, I never had any little girl experiences.  She has taught me what the world looks like living in a little girl world!   I love her everso....

WHAT a kind and beautiful soul she is!!

and she doesn't even have a name yet!!!   She's only 3 weeks old and has to stay with her mama until the end of February.  

She will never replace my Sophiejane but she sure will start to mend the hole in my heart! 

My husband made me laugh last night when he said, "Do you realize it's been 20 yrs since we had a new bebe?"     Whoa.....we're not spring chickens any more, specially when it comes to puppy training!!!  I can't wait!!!!

Can We Play the Pretend Game Again????

Let's pretend like it was last Tuesday....January 14, 2020...because that was HAILEY'S BIRTHDAY!!!!

Wow.  I hardly ever miss one of my kid's birthdays ON their special day but I've already been behind on not one, but two, since the first of this year on the blog....insert sad face here!

We tried to get together for lunch for both her birthday and for mine with my other daughter in law but we've had sickness in both houses and have just not been able to meet up yet.  But not to worry!!  We will...and we'll laugh...and we'll eat cake...and she'll get a lil surprise!!!

She is just the best mom and these two little boys ROCK her world....as well as her rocking their world!

They are in the middle of building the foundation of their forever home ...

She even arranged to have their family go out to their property to cut down a Christmas tree to put into their under construction home before it even had doors or heat or walls!!!!!!!!

Now, don't you know that these little boys will ALWAYS REMEMBER THEIR FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE IN THEIR NEW HOME???????  To me, that was just the most thoughtful and loving thing a mom and dad can do for their children!!!!!!!

SEE?????  just one more example of why I love this daughter in law....she is the greatest mom in all the land and she loves my son as much as I do!!!!

Do I wish I had time back??  Not really for I have such wonderful memories of my life to dream back on and re-live!!

Do I wish I had more time ahead of me?  SURE!!!  But since we are not in control of that, I must make every dingle dangle day count....all the while making more memories!!

I have included this quote in my New Years Day post for as long as I've been blogging...since 2009!

My New York buddy,Virginia, gave it to me some 20ish years ago and I love starting my Jan 1 off with this thought...it's just so true...put the past bad stuff away and look for the good stuff in the future to enhance your life!!

Also. last night I had sweet thoughts of another friend who always sends me a babyberry candle to burn on New Yrs eve to ensure good luck in the new year.  Our memories span all over this country and beyond...even thru the seas on our beloved Blew Bayou.

As the seconds of 2019 slipped thru our lives , the sun's rays danced its magic as it quietly slid into its last sunset of the decade..

I welcome 2020 with open arms and hope that it blesses us just as the last 6 decades (big eye emoji inserted here) have!!!

Because it was my first born's BIRTHDAY and I didn't get a post done for him.....and it was a big one too!

His wife planned a great party for him and they had so much fun that 9 adults and 5 kids ended up spending the night with them and not leaving until they had cooked the New Yrs Day cornbread, black-eyed peas and cabbage !!  Now, that's a fun party!!

This was her centerpiece and only those that really know him will think this is SO hilarious.....He loves honey buns, little debbie snacks and just about anything that is sugary and kinda gross...so this was so perfect for him!!!!  We kid him all the time about his snacking!!

He is the best daddy to his children and has really shown his love for his wife this past year during her illness.
