Maybe? Maybe? Maybe??????

Defibrillator has been removed.
Blood cultures have come back clean.
MRI has come back clean.
Surgeon has discharged him.  Infectious disease dr has almost discharged him.
Waiting on home health information and a life vest that he will wear until they can put another defibrillator in.
Check.  Check.  and Check!!!
WE THINK WE MAY GET TO GO HOME TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!
one more little prayer that we do????

the art sculptures here at Houston Methodist are beautiful. it's been fun to walk around and visit most of them.  and all the while walking  around all the news camera crews and secret service who are here because of George H Bush, bless his heart.  We heard today that he is now in a regular room....and by regular, I mean the 19th floor that they wouldn't let me on......can you imagine that????
Sending my guardian angels his way right now....

Church On The Move!!

A little joke in our family is that when it's time to go do something.....and get it done NOW, we say Church on the Move!!
Yesterday, it was time for my boy to get into the surgery room and "Git Er Done"...and so he did!
We had to wait and wait and wait all weekend once we got to Houston Methodist hospital so by Monday, all of us were ready.
Surgery a success!!  Defibrillator removed and so far all cultures of his blood and the device itself have come back negative.  We still have to wait 72 hours for complete results but after already spending 10 days in two different hospitals in two different towns, we may be feeling an end in sight!
And my boy is smiling again.  Thank You Jesus!!!!!!
Thank You Guardian Angels!!

Something that made me smile yesterday was while waiting in ICU waiting room, in walked two sweet volunteers with therapy dogs, Margaret and Pepe.  They just walk around and make everyone happy by petting and talking to them!!!  I'm not sure if I thought Pepe, the chihuahua, was sweeter or his adorable owner pushing him around on the walker!!!

Give Gratitude for your Blessings and Hug Your Children...

My middle boy, who had open heart surgery 1 1/2 yrs ago, began running fever 2 weeks ago. He began antibiotics and the blood tests revealed bacterial infection. The day after his antibiotic was finished, his fever was back up to 104.something.  Last Friday, he went back to doctor and blood results showed white blood count of 30,000 whereas normal is 6-11,000.  He was told to go to ER immediately.  Thank Goodness, he did.  He was septic.  After many tests, he was admitted to hospital where they began to blast him with IV antibiotics.  The infection was finally diagnosed as staph and it was living on the lead wire into his heart from the defibrillator.  Endocarditis.  Inflammation of the inner layer of the heart.  After 5 days in the hospital in our home town, he was medically transported last night to the Houston hospital where his heart surgery was performed.  As I type this, we are waiting on more test results and the defibrillator will be removed on Monday.  Then up to 5-7 days recovery until we can take the baby boy home.
I've talked to all of our guardian angels every dingle dangle day and they are helping us get thru this.
That boy is so tough and so strong that it sometimes makes MY heart hurt because it is so bursting with love for that kid.
The above pic is one I took when I took his little girls to visit him in hospital.  I think the picture tells the WHOLE story.  Their family is so in love with each other that it is THAT love that will heal his heart and make everything all better!
(for our diary purposes, this hospital stay began on April 13 with arrival in Houston on April 18)

Loveliness!

loveliness:  Noun  1. The property of being lovely, of attractiveness, beauty, appearing to be lovable.
                              2.  The result of being lovely.

When I began this post, looking at these pics of my children and grandchildren, that word just blurted out into my mind!!!  Is that so wrong???  ok. Maybe a little bit biased but definitely NOT wrong!!!

All in their Easter 2018 Glory!!!

Sigh......proud YaYa:  Noun: 1) grandmother bursting with pride and love!!

Tractor Shed now accepting Tractors.....and Boys!!!

So, as the tale would go....Cap'n wanted to build a "little" room across the driveway from the deer camp for all those grandkids to play.  Somewhere, where they could run around and holler and have fun but not IN the living room of the deer camp.  Ok.  One would have to actually know our Cap'n to know that he doesn't hardly ever do anything "little".  So the building began and that little room turned into a 2 bedroom, bathroom, lovely kitchen area with a game room big enough to drive a tractor thru!!!!
With a garage door on one end to do just that!!!!  And now it's not the "small grandchildren" who have a place to play......but also the "big" boys and girls as well!!!!
The porches around it are awesome and plans are being made right now for swings and rocking chairs and lots of sittin'!!!!!  I imagine there will be lots of storytelling happening on those porches!
The interior walls are made from the trees that had to be cut down to put the building there.  Cap'n had them cut and planed down with this vision in his head.  Verah, verah cool!
The tin roof on the outside is also the ceiling for the inside and he got all industial fixtures for the room! Concrete floors and stainless appliances.
Maybe we'll make him be an interior designer in his next career life....HAHAHAHAHA!!!! (like he needs one more thing to do...!)
Shuffle board table has its own lights and carpet made to order for perfect calibration!!
dart board is electric!!
Last weekend, when all were gathered round, EVERYONE was playing either shuffleboard or foosball or ping pong or darts!!!!!  So much fun!

Once again, Cap'n has made happy campers out of his family members!!
This property, and all of its amenities, is what his legacy will be for his children....with the hopes that it lives on forever in our family for future generations!!!

On This Easter Morn.....

In my heart, this is the scene I imagine when I think that word has spread throughout the heavens, that He is Risen!!!
All the angels dancing and giggling with happiness in their hearts... kind of the way mine feels right now!
A time of cleansing and starting over,  living a better life with Jesus close to my heart
and thanking Him much more often for all He has given me!!

and right after that, I think of all the chocolate bunnies I wish I could eat today...ears first of course!!
REJOICE EVERYONE FOR HE IS RISEN!!!
HAPPY EASTER!!
