Once again the lake is flooding. We've had major rains last week and today, with another horrid day tomorrow. And when that happens, the waters invade our area. March and May of 2016 we had horrendous flooding. That 50 yr flood! And now it's happening again.
Might I also add that we have almost finished having the interior of the house re-done from the busted pipes in January. In fact, we spent all of last Saturday moving furniture back and clearing off our bed so we could sleep in it... (that's my daddy's depiction of a pregnant chicken...he was an architect with a crazy abstract eye in his painting!! He would be so proud if he knew it hung at our lake house!!)
only to wake up on Sunday morning with waters running into the yard from the swollen river.
sigh..............as I talked to Mother Nature during our last episode, I do so again tonight.
(privileged to have been able to actually touch her in Portovenere and the Bay of Poets in Italy)
This was the image I got of our lake house this afternoon:
arrow is pointing to our driveway. water is completely under the house. On Sunday, we moved all stuff up about 2ft. I guess on Friday we'll have to move it up 2 more ft...or more.
We bought this little paradise in May of 1996 and it has been our getaway heaven. In those 22 yrs we probably only have had 5 little floods and those had many yrs between them and it gave us time to forget the misery. I haven't had time to forget yet since the last ones we've had.
SO......to get my mind off the not so pleasant things right now, I've been going thru my phone pics and what to my wandering eyes did I find????
Grandchildren, that's what!!! Their faces make me lose all thoughts of anything bad!!
Case's school celebrated Mardi Gras with a parade...so fun!
Little brother Lane loved it a lot too!!
Then just a week later, it was time for grandparents day!
Then it was time for lil ms. Josey to begin her ballet career!!
she loved it and now even has tap shoes!!! That girl will be tapping her life away with a smile on her face!! (I get tears of joy every time I see these little granddaughters in their pink tutus!)
I didn't get a pic of mr. Austin so he must be busy doing his kindergarten 'stuff'!!
We finished out the month with a daddy/daughter dance at Lilli's school
her daddy came to the front door with flowers to swoop her away...
A Date Made in Heaven!!!
SO.............even when we have some bad days, just look at the love and happiness in these baby's eyes and all that bad stuff just floats away!!
COME ON MR. SUN -----DO YOUR THING, PLEASE!!!
