A Whirlwind of Activities!!!

The last few weeks have been non-stop fun!  First, there was the ICE Event at the Gaylord Texan Resort that all the grandchillen and all their moms and I went to for an overnight stay.  And we fit as much as we could into that stay...did I mention that those SIX grandchildren range in age from 7 down to 19 months???  Needless to say, we had our hands full........and had an icy blast!!

ICE! is an indoor winter wonderland featuring:

  • Walk-through holiday attraction, kept at a chilly 9 degrees
  • Two million pounds of colorful ice sculptures
  • Hand-carved by 40 artisans from Harbin, China. Learn more about The Making of ICE!
  • Five two-story tall ice slides
  • Depicts the classic story of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
  • Conclude your experience with the majesty of a full Nativity in stunning, crystal clear ice.
It's all part of Lone Star Christmas!
We began the day at the Galleria American Girl doll store.....3 VERY excited little girls and 1 not so excited lil boy!
After checking into a very crowded hotel and letting the kids play in the rooms for a bit, we headed over to ICE....a really amazing display of hand carved ice sculptures that were HUGE and colorful and kept in rooms that were 9 degrees.  It was COLD!!!  A 15 minute walk thru is about all you can stand.
There was an ice slide that the kids all loved...
Sculptures of everything from Twas the Night Before Christmas
Crazy girls having fun!
The last display was a full nativity scene that was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't get the whole thing in my shot because of its enormity.

Then the kids went to listen to Mrs. Clause read a story and have cookies and milk with her.

Then a walk around the magnificent decorations that fill this resort.
Early next morning, we were off to have breakfast with the Elves....that would be the Elf on the Shelf elves!!!

Even tho it looks like this is a sweet quiet moment at the breakfast table....I find myself always collecting these when we have all of them gathered together at a table...heheheh...never be too careful!!
And what would a Christmas event weekend be without a visit with the ol' man himself!
Two are missing because neither one of them really like to sit on his lap yet!!!

It was such a fun weekend and one I think they will remember for a while!!!

Next up???  A GREAT THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION!!!
(we kind of got out of order with our holidays...but who cares when you're having fun??!!)

Counting My Thankfuls!

It doesn't have to be Thanksgiving for me to count my blessings every day of the year.....today I've been thinking about how I lucked out with daughter in laws!  I sure didn't realize how much more love I could feel for my sons.....until they brought 3 of the sweetest girls into our family.....who then brought 6 of the sweetest grandchildren into our lives!!  I only hope they know how blessed we feel!

Seems that my other DIL has evaded my camera lately because I cannot find a recent pic of her and her babies.....that will change this weekend when all of us spend a few days together here!!!

Crazy and fun girls on a Friday night at the deer camp!!!
I am so thankful for their friendship!

Look what happens when you slam the door!!

This good lookin' lil boy started kindergarten this year so you know what that means!!!!
"ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH!"
and yes....he did tie the string onto a door a few days ago and slammed it.  Was quite proud, I may add!!
Look what happens in one short week!  Took the pics for previous post 7 days ago and this one yesterday!!  Wonder if our 85 degree days have anything to do with the swift color change!!!!!  HA!!
(I think they may just be dead!)  but beautiful!!
