School Days....School Days...Dear Ol' Golden Rule Days!!

You know you remember this song!  Well, if you're anywhere in the vicinity of my age range, you do!

On the first day of school EVERY yr....from kindergarten thru their senior year, I would burst into my boy's rooms to wake them up ... singing this song!!!  Oh, how they hated it!!!!! Yet, the night before, they would all remind me NOT to sing it to them.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

So, of course, I had to tell my daughter in laws all about it so they could carry on the tradition...and HAD to send this video to my sons on the first day of school for their kiddos!!!!!

Yes, I would say our clan is populating the local schools with just pure cuteness!!!

It Just Never Gets Old!

Morning time on the deck. It's quiet. It's serene. It's ever so peaceful. Hot coffee. Time to think.

Yes, it's the same view each morning but for some reason, it never ever feels quite the same.

But no matter, it always soothes the soul!

And sometimes, if you look close enough and grab your brand new telephoto lens for your camera, you will get to see this...

and for some other crazy reason, when I see them walking and stalking food,  the song....Walkin' to New Orleans....always comes to my mind and makes me chuckle!

See what the peace and quiet of our lake house does to me????  Makes me a leetle more crazy but crazy with a peaceful soul!

In my mind, if I could paint AT ALL, this is what a watercolor painting of the scene above would look like!  

Alas....no painting skills here so I'll just stick to photography!!

YaYa....YaYa....YaYa.....YaYa.....YaYa!!!!!

I heard this phrase at LEAST a thousand times last week!  But ya know what....it's such a happy sound.  Except at 6am!!
My oldest son and his bride took off on a little vacay last week, without the kiddos, so guess what I did last week??  Austin, 5, and Josey, 2, came to play with me!  We swam and read and swam and cooked and read and swam and played with cousins.....alot!  We stayed at the lake for a few days, they went to spend nights with cousins and their aunt Amy, they went to another cousin's birthday party and we stayed at our "dry" house with ALL the cousins one night!!!  That would be cousins ranging from 7 down to 18 months!!  A big time was had by all!

And would you believe that in all the craziness, this is just about the only pic I ended up taking?

YaYa was a wee bit busy!

BUT...my boyfriend surprised me with TWO new cameras last week so as soon as I get them up and running....as in read the manuals!!...I'll be back to clicking away!  I did get a pic of some girly food that I had fixed for my daughter in laws when they came to spend the night.....
