A Night On The Town!!!

For our 40th wedding anniversary celebration, all of our kids took us out for dinner!!

They all had babysitters so this was the first time in in 7 yrs that we've all been out .... together.... with no children in tow!!!  

We had a grown up dinner where we had a few cocktails in the piano bar and then moved into the dining area for more cocktails, appetizers and a wonderful meal!!

And lots of desserts, including bananas foster made at the table!!

We laughed and laughed and laughed.

This ol' mama was so happy and will always cherish the memory of this night!!

A Birthday to Appreciate...My Second Son!

Matthew Lee is 36 years young today!!! (also my daddy's birthday!)

DOES NOT SEEM POSSIBLE...even had to do the subtraction to remember exactly how many yrs. today.  Wow!

One of my fave pics of us together.....I am so blessed to be surrounded by such good lookin' guys!

Ya know?  In our older years, birthdays are usually just another day.  A day to reflect on the past and dream of the future..another day to mark the history of our lives.  But today, this year marks a special day in my middle boy's life....a day to reflect on his past year.  Who would have thought that in the course of a few months, he would have found out about a serious heart problem, lived thru open heart surgery and recovery as a strong, strong man, and come out on the other side with even more strength????

A mom never knows the strength required when one of her babies...36 or not....is hurting. Prayer is a powerful thing and I credit Him on giving us that strength.

An Egg-cellent Breakfast!

We have some buddies who live down the highway from us that raise chickens and therefore they have...THE BEST EGGS IN ALL THE LAND!!  Cap'n has an awesome garden so we are on a swap program!   They get tomatoes, squash, zucchini and cucumbers and we get fresh eggs...pretty fair trade in my book.

On weekends, we like to make good ol' fashioned breakfasts, albeit sometimes it turns into brunch because it may run into the 10-11 o'clock hour.  Hey!  It's the weekend!  And sometimes we come up with concoctions.
                                                                     Wait for it.....

Wait......

Yes!!!  Tortilla stuffed with sausage or bacon, cheese and a couple of those fresh eggs, over easy style, right on top!

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY CASE!!!!

My grandson, Case, celebrated his birthday on July 1, 2017!!!!  He and his family were at Lake Ouachita with his Lulu and Papa, but his cousins here celebrated with him at Chuck e Cheese before they left!

The weekend was filled with the rest of the clan for a lil fourth of july celebration!

A whole lotta chillin' and eatin' and drinkin' and swimmin' went on around here!

Of course, I didn't get any pics of all the food because well......when Cap'n rang the bell, I came up to eat!!!!!
