Mother's Day Love!

Mother's Day used to be bittersweet for me because my own Mom passed away the day after mother's day.  She had been ill and we knew it would be soon but I also knew that no way on God's green earth would she leave us ON mother's day. And since her fave thing to snack on was a hot dog..crazy, I know.... I prepared the biggest hot dog buffet imaginable that day. She couldn't join us but I knew she was smiling big time!!!  And now that the yrs have passed,  I am so lucky to have the best children in all the land to celebrate with, for every year they come to me with open arms and huge smiles to make my day complete!
And now, they are bringing those little grandbabies with them to make ME smile....and boy, do I!!!

Oldest and his family had to stay in TX because Austin had a t-ball game but the rest of them came to spend the day with us on Saturday.  Our weather was picture perfect and we had hamburgers and fries and Cap'n's best baked beans in all the land!  The kids swam and us moms enjoyed a few margaritas while we watched them. Then a nice boat ride.  Nothing fancy.  Nothing really planned.  Just sheer perfection having them surround me with their love.  Man, oh man.....do I ever love those kids!!!

the girls, Lilli&Katie, made the sweetest handmade vases filled with tulips and sunflowers...swoon...

and the boys, Case&Lane, brought the cutest singing card and portrait pics from their school..sigh..

the only thing I am a little sad about is that I didn't get any pics with my sons.....it just seems like we get so busy with the babies and the food, that the important stuff gets left behind.  Next time, tho...!

Sunday was spent being lazy and being completely pampered by my boyfriend!  Meals prepared and kitchen cleaned up...naps...enjoying the views of the river, which never gets old!

Ink & Zinnias!!

 See that lil arrow in left bottom corner?? That was the only reason I went to Walmart. Ink for my printer.....but the zinnias and the 5 dollar outdoor pillows were calling my name!

I'm spending all this week playing in my yard at the lake house....breathing in the azure blue sky with every breath!

But when the weather man started talking about rain all day today, I came home to work on cleaning out my freezer and pantry before we move to the lake for summertime. But first, did some sprucing up on the front porch ... and did a lil swingin'!

and made a big ol' pot of shrimp etoufee!

Yes'm.....I am enjoying my days this week!!!
