A YaYa's job is never done.....hopefully!

My kids are always so sweet to invite me to tag along on their adventures......so tag along I did over the weekend!

On friday night, ms. Lilli became a mini cheerleader for their area high school along with about 200 other 6 yr olds.  She was so cute and her face showed the sheer FUN she was having!
While crazy KatieJane and her "Cheer Mom" and I watched from above.
couldn't resist, amy!!

Then the next morning at the you know what crack of dawn, I was off on a 3hr drive to Plano to watch my grandson, Austin 4, play T-Ball.
It was a beautiful morning and I really enjoyed to drive. And when I got to the ball field and saw this...
I was a leetle verclempt!  He is the spitting image of his dad and this pic could have come from our albums of his dad's days on the t-ball field.  Took me back to so many old memories!!
After lots of shopping and eating, we were back to their house to watch LSU football, sad day for lsu fans....
But I took this sandwich over for my son, KNEW he'd like it and it's a good football snack.

Baked Italian Sandwich...lots of ham, salami, cheese, spinach all baked between crescent roll dough....YUM!

Back at home, the two little girls were at the circus
riding elephants and seeing tiger, oh my!, and even handling a snake!
My other grandsons were up in Arkansas at a lake with their lulu and papa....haven't gotten any pics of them yet but I'm sure there was fun being had there too!

Glad I got to play with most of them this weekend, cuz next weekend???
GIRLFRIEND TRIP!!!
I'm sure I'll be doing lots of this...
and some of this..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....NOT!!!

Like I said....A YaYa's work is never done!!
Thank Goodness!!

Surrender to the Peace!

Coffee on the back porch on a Saturday morning in the fall....albeit still 90 degrees :(
Coffee on the deck at the lake on a Saturday morning in the fall ~~

only the sounds of a fisherman's motor, the song of the cardinal or the hum of the blue heron~
a blue sky and leaves on the trees that are anxious to burst into yellows and oranges~
high temps that are begging for a change.

We must not be impatient.  The change will come.  Until it does, I enjoy my peaceful weekends in my world while the hunters are doing what they love in their own world of nature!
No matter the place....our landscapes are beautiful!!!

September Special Times!

It was time for grandchild # 2 and grand # 3 to begin their pre K and preschool days for the year and they were oh, so proud and happy...
Austin is 4. KatieJane is 3!
So now the first 4 are all in school some days during the week and some mamas are verah happy!!

Last weekend, we all went to the deer camp where little boys and girls hunted with their daddies for the first time.  And oh my!!!!  What fun we all had.  There was camoflage from head to toe on those little bodies and watching them all heading out into the fields on the 4 wheelers with dogs and chairs and snacks and drinks and my baby boys with THEIR little boys and girls????  Well.....the cycle of life played out right before my eyes.....eyes filled with happy tears!

Their uncle shanon also played and hunted with them!

How cool is it for these men to teach their children the art of the sport and hobby of hunting and enjoying nature as well as carrying on the traditions that their dad taught them!  I see many more days of cousins spending weekends together like this!
And hey!!!!  As an added bonus, I get ALL my grandbabies together at the same time!
As well as........enjoying these crazy girls that call themselves the "sister wives"!!!!
I call them my sweet daughter in laws!!

The Light is Changing!!

You know what that means:  a change of season...cooler temps...brisk breezes...LSU football!  I noticed it this afternoon, as I was being totally lazy on a raft in the pool for about 4 hours....on Labor Day!  The sunlight is not as harsh and when it shines thru the trees, the shadows do a slow dance in rhythm with the breezes  It will be a while before any of our leaves change color, that is if they do.  Sometimes here in the south our leaves go from green to brown....um, we kinda don't have much of the in-between seasonal weather for long.  But hey!  Temps less than 90 degrees?  We'll take it any way we can get it.

soft morning light streaming in thru my back door

Love Hunting Season!!

And so it begins for the 2016 season!!!  And you know what that means for me??  Doing exactly as I please on the weekends while mah boyfriend and all the sons and friends go to deer camp to do their thing.....WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

What better way to begin the weekend than lunch with a bestie on Friday?!!

this warmed goat cheese with a pickled olive dipping sauce.....To die for, I tell ya!!!
After sleeping till well after 8 this morning....I began pulling out the fall decor. How nice to be able to work at my own pace, playing with different areas of my home.  Although, it does say something about putting fall decor on our gate while the sweat drips down your body!! Even tho I woke up to a cooler morning, it was still HOT!!

and then this evening?? watching the Hallmark channel to my hearts desire!!
Sigh.....yes, hunting season is great!!
