Seems to be Slipping thru our Fingers...

TIME.

How has it gone by so quickly?  In the blink of an eye.....we had three sons. They grew up. Those three sons now have two children each.

TIME.

We only have a small amount of it during our lifetime.  It should never be taken for granted.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MY LOVE!!!  39 YEARS AGO TODAY, WE DANCED AND LAUGHED AND LOVED.
(we still do!!!)

Who Is Special Today??....on Father's Day?

A dad??  Well sure....but then around here he's special EVERY day!!!

He takes care of us all as a family!  He provides mucho entertainment for all that are around him.

He's a father.
He's a father in law.
He's a grandfather.

He's my boyfriend.  He's my husband.  He's the father of my children.  He's my best friend.

And on Father's Day, we honor him but hopefully, we make him feel special EVERY day and that he feels all the love we have for him!!

Lazy Days of Summer??

It's already been a pretty busy summer around here.  As I just wrote, we spent a week at the beach, and as you all know, it takes a lot of prep to make sure everyone has everything they need while there. Then 3 days after getting back, my daughter in law had surgery and guess who came to my house during all of that??
They are busy little girls and YaYa was on her toes thinking of fun things to do!
One night, some of my friends came over for a "fashion show" of sorts.  Her son is getting married this summer and she was trying to decide what to wear.  These two little girls were the judges!  And the little one put on 4 different dresses to model with my friend.  So funny!
Also, I've had a pretty bad flare up of back pain and knew it was going to be tough to get thru the next few weeks so my doctor made a house call for an injection....YES, I said house call!!!  But he's also a very good friend so he really came to have a glass of wine.  But the girls could not believe that YaYa was getting a shot in her sunroom.  Again....funny!
We went the day after surgery to visit their mom and they asked so many questions about that hospital room...more funny!
When she broke out, um, was discharged, from hospital, we took her to our deer camp to recuperate.  It's a pretty cool place to recover.  Cap'n even brought a recliner outside for her to sit or sleep in while admiring the views.
She is doing great and when I got back to our lake house, I did a bit of the same!!!
I sat here forever watching the boats go by and watching and waiting for my baby blue birds to take their first flight out of their home.  Yes, that's a purple martin box but our blue birds love it and continue to nest in it
The most exciting news tho has been the recovery of our swimming pool.  I mentioned before that the months of march AND april consisted of flooding waters that broke 50 yr records.  We have been here 20 years and have never witnessed what we saw this time.  It was probably 3 ft above our pool.
Which you know what that means....
the pool was somewhere under there...
Once the water receded, the pool had black water in it...and no telling what else.  Because of all the rain we had after the flooding, we had to wait to clean it.  I have no pics of that because I could not bring myself to take a picture of it.
My boyfriend had been working SO hard, along with the pool guys, to get it cleaned up.  I love the pool everso and he had been doing everything in his power to get it back to beautiful for me.
(I love him everso too!!)
AND HE DID IT!!!!!
Look how it looks today!!!
And I am READY to spend some quality time there!!!

WHA???....A Beach Trip AND an LSU Baseball Game?!!!

So, being the LSU fanatics that we are, not to mention LSU alums, it was very exciting to be able to begin our annual family beach trip with a stopover at the LSU campus to attend the Florida baseball game.  Add to that the fact that my 4yr old grandson, who also already loves the purple and gold and has begun t-ball, got to go with his dad and his cap'n.  He also got to visit Mike, the Tiger's mansion and see the football stadium.  Needless to say, that kid (and the big ones) had a smile from ear to ear on his face all day long!

3 generations of LSU fans!
(my favorite pic!!)
Next morning we were off to finish the drive to Perdido Key where the rest of the family was meeting up.  While waiting for our beach house to be ready, we stopped for lunch where ms. josey got her first taste of the sand in her sundress and sunglasses.  Work it, girlfriend!
How happy we were to see our home for the next week!  A private house with a private pool and cooking deck right on the beach.  Since there are 13 of us, it was so nice that everyone had plenty of room to have their own private gulf front suites as well as a huge kitchen with TWO of everything!
2 fridges, 2 dishwashers, 2 ovens!!  I was in heaven!  There was a kids room with 4 bunk beds and their own bathroom!  So lovely
Cap'n in the foyer, glad to be done with that drive...

a sweet nook for reading or looking at the water....but for us, it was a perfect place for kids and their toys
dining table big enough for all of us
view from my bedroom balcony!!
Such bliss!
(thanking Greg Crews from www.ALVacationRentals.com for being so kind)
