I'm a Lucky Gal and I Know It and Appreciate it Dearly!

Remember all the griping I did about not getting to New Orleans because of the weather? Patience....and a day's wait on the thaw.....and I got to see my buddies!  And they did wait on me to go to Felix's for oysters!

Did I satisfy that oyster fix???  You tell me!!

Raw....Grilled.....Fried!!  YUM-O!!!

I only had a day and a half with them but man, oh man....was it ever worth it!!!  We had a blast together~~continuing to make memories for our life books!!

Now, it's time to unpack the cool weather bag and get the BEACH weather bag packed.

Off to Dominican Republic for 3 weeks.  Not sure how much internet I'll have but I'll be click, click, clicking that camera daily!

....that would be Bourbon Street!   If I couldn't drive to New Orleans today to do this....

Guess I'll just stay home and do this......

Snow in Loosiana at the end of February???  Who'd a thunk it?!!!

Mother Nature.....You Should Not Mess with a Gal Pal Trip....

This is me tonight.  Sad.  Verah Verah Sad.  My best buds from WA state are in New Orleans tonight and the plan was for me to drive down to meet them there for 3 days of revelry and fun.  We usually only get to see each other once a year.

Looks like because of the ice storm yesterday and the 1-3 inches of snow predicted for tonight.....(did I just say snow in Loosiana?????) I won't be able to get outa here and must wait for the thaw. 

Normally, I'd be shouting with joy to see snow...to make snow angels...

But not tonight.

Worst part is that it's just sitting right over us....if I could just get an hour or two south.....it would be clear.

But when the south has ice and snow....THE WORLD SHUTS DOWN.  the schools close, the businesses close and the bridges and roads close.  Cuz we just don't have the 'know- how' to handle it.

And come on Ms. Nature...............it's almost March. We have budding trees and bulbs starting to bloom!!!!

Ok..........my lil bratty rant is over.  The rest of the country is really suffering.  I should not complain!

But if those girls eat here........

before I can get there.......I'm gonna kill 'em!!!!

A.....WildKratt????? A WhAt???

Oh yeah babee!!!  Who drives 3 hrs to Dallas to take her grandbabies to a live show of the WildKratts??  Why, this ol' YaYa of course!!! 

Austin, Lilli and Lilli's mom and I in a music hall with about ONE THOUSAND other small children and their parents!!!!  

We were in the nosebleed section but these two had a blast and did not know the difference.....how fun to watch the smiles on their faces!!

 Add to the fact that my brand new granddaughter also lives there!!!

AND this was the first time that Lilli and KatieJane got to see their new cousin!

 Such a fun time we had!  Love it when alot of us can get together!

I hurriedly drove home to be off the roads FOR WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE WINTER PRECIPITATION TONIGHT AND TOMORROW.......WHA???????

It was 62 degrees yesterday; yet sleet and ice tonight??????!!!

You better get outa here bad weather for in 2 days, I'm off to New Orleans for a gal pal trip!!

2 things that rocked my world......!

Actually 3!!

Beautiful fleurs from my boyfriend on Valentine's Day!

We had the most beautiful weather over the weekend.....spring-like!  (sorry to my Yankee friends....I know ya'll are going thru tough times)

But standing on the walkway to the house and looking at our summer escape...just rocked my world and made me yearn for summer months!

And because it was such a warm, sunny day I had one more thing that rocked my boat!!!

Aaaaaaahhhhhh......nothing better than a cold brewsky in a frosted mug on a fun day at the lake!!

The Baby Boy's Birthday...

29 yrs????  wha?????  NO!! NO!!  He is the baby.  MY baby.....for all time.

slap...slap....wake up YaYa.....He is a grown man!  A husband.  A father.

(and my baby!)

We couldn't be more proud of the man he's become.  That husband?  That father?  Just couldn't be more proud.  And maybe we just don't tell them that enough....So even tho today is his birthday and I'm writing it in black and white, I feel this way every dingle dangle day!!

Remember the coffee filters??

A few years ago, the latest trending craft project on blogs was the "coffee filter wreath".  I admit I fell into the trend by making one for my daughter in law's bridal shower.....

Well, I'm co-hosting another bridal shower this weekend and decided to get the ol' glue gun and coffee filters back out!!  It's a fun and fast lil project that you can knock out in an afternoon.

A styrofoam base wrapped in burlap.  Coffee filter bunches glued on. Fresh magnolia leaves from a beautiful tree in a hostess' yard. The bride's new name initial all wrapped up with a bow!

And voila!!  Easy Peasy door decor!!

This morning, his mom and dad and new bebe sister Josey, took him to his favorite place for a birthday breakfast of waffles, eggs and bacon!  With a candle in it~~
