so..........what could these two things actually have in common? Nothing! Except that's what my days have consisted of this week. First, the
PAINT. While we were gone, we had the whole interior of the lakehouse re-painted. That was either a good thing or a CRAZY thing. Good? Because we were gone for the whole dealio. Bad? What if I didn't like colors? Would have had major re-do. But it all turned out good because I love how it's turned out! I needed to de-clutter. Make it simple. So I painted the whole house in white. Crisp, Clean and Simple white. The house is an older house and the walls are all that old fashioned paneling. It looks good. All my color came in with the furnishings and the ceiling in main room is a turquoise blue. Sherwin Williams...Drizzle.
Also did one accent wall in bedrooms. My room? the same Drizzle color and guest room? a kiwi green. Sherwin Wlliams....Parakeet. You know....lakey colors!!
sheer white curtains will go up with some chevron orange lights hung in them! Quilt is from Anthropologie and it, of course, has sailboats on it.....what else??!! Love it! The lamps came with the house when we bought it. Very vintage and they've been painted many colors throughout the yrs. Was going to buy new but just couldn't throw out the history of the lamps!! So, an orange coat of paint went on them!!!
guest room is precious! my painter even called me in the bvi's to tell me, um....I don't know if you're gonna like this color green. I LOVE IT! and yes, ms. jane from
Artfully Graced, the painting you did for me goes perfectly in there! thanks again for that!
this is also in there. I know, I know....what the hell is that?? My daddy was an architect and loved abstract. He always painted abstract, much to my mother's dismay. Plus, we didn't have alot of money growing up so he would paint on anything he could find. He found this old woven straw tray in the trash at his office. Brought it home and threw some paint on it in his familiar way. It hung on our back porch my whole life and when we had to sell the house after they passed away....I just had to have it. It has hung in my lakehouse since we got it and now it goes perfectly in new green guest room!! Everyone thinks its ugly but everytime I look at it, I have loving memories of my daddy!! He would be so happy to know I'm enjoying it!
Now, for the PIE!
I've talked before about the garden my son has planted at our deer camp. Well, he's loading us up with bounty and I'm loving it! He sent some squash, green tomatoes and zucchini and I've been cooking up a storm.
fried green tomatoes!
Bowl of Bounty! and a dee-lish zucchini pie that I made yesterday afternoon....YUMMY!
Ok, daughter-in-laws.....this is a good recipe that ya'll would like...easy peasy!

Separate dough into 8 triangles and place in ungreased pie plate. Press over bottom and up sides to form crust. Firmly press perforations to seal. Spread crust with mustard. Pour egg mixture evenly into crust lined pan.
Bake 18-22 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
