35 Yrs............and counting...!!
How can it be? I'm not old enough to have been married 35 yrs. Or am I??? My body tells me I am but my mind continues to tell this body that those college days of bliss with long brown hair and limbs even longer, are still intact! That the blind date with that "crazy, wild" boy was just a few weeks ago....sharing the births of 3 beautiful sons only JUST happened......cruising all over the wild blue seas with that crazy boy is such a fresh memory. We have had and are still having a beautiful life. Sure, there have been the ups and downs......but what makes us work harder, only makes us stronger!
How can a gal NOT be madly in love with a guy who goes out into the sunflower field and cuts her the most beautiful sunflower ever??? Even two!!!

This quote SO describes my life, to date. And it is only because of my man making dreams come true for me that makes it so meaningful!
HAPPY 35TH ANNIVERSARY TO MY BOYFRIEND...your bride loves you very much!

All work and no play? Not in this group!!
When this group gets together, there is ALWAYS food! Even on fathers day, our two fathers in the group did all the cooking! (just the way we like it!!)
Y-U-M-M-Y!!
And while the fathers work, some of the others do stuff like this...
do ya think T-Bacon could use just one more float??!!!
and then you always have to love the little one who absolutely LOVES her strawberry ice cream pie!!Ahhhhhhh...........those lazy, crazy, sunny days of summer!!

Our Father.....
Well, technically he's not MY father.............but I know for a fact that he's the best father of all time! That would be my boyfriend....the father of my three sons.....and the love of my life. Hopefully, we show him on a regular basis just how special he is... that he makes everything possible in our lives and we appreciate everything he does for us.... and that he has taught his sons to do the same for their own families. When I shine from realizing how absolutely awesome all of my children are....it is a direct reflection of their dad's character and work ethic. Hopefully, the love he has given them throughout their lives will be what they cherish the most.
Happy Father's Day Cap'n!!
He's a father, a father in law and a grandfather.............and he's all ours!!!

Nac-i-toch-chis??????
WHA??? what does that mean? I laugh because this is how alot of my Yankee friends pronounce this town!
NATCHITOCHES!! Natchitoches ( /ˈnækətəʃ/ NAK-ə-təsh) is a city in and the parish seat of Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States.[1] Established in 1714 by Louis Juchereau de St. Denis as part of French Louisiana, the community was named after the Natchitoches Indian tribe. The City of Natchitoches was first incorporated on February 5, 1819. It is the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. Natchitoches's sister city is Nacogdoches, Texas. The population was 17,865 at the 2000 census. It is the home of Northwestern State University, founded in 1884 as a normal school, for the education of teachers of elementary school students. (wikipedia)
This is a quaint lil town about an hour from here that has the sweetest downtown area with lotsa shopping and fun restaurants. And when one of my peeps asked me if I wanted to join her and another on a lil day trip..........well.............whatdaya think I said?? So fun! Beautiful weather and a cool shop where I found some perfect clothes for Italy!!

The three of us are all so different in personality and style and that shines thru in our choice of beverage for lunch!! Red, white and blush!!
An old historic town to ride around in, a fun place to shop and laughing with friends make for Good Times!

in- depth research for the blob!!
When one keeps a diary, as in blog form, one must do alot of work to get the details right...To make sure the correct facts are passed down from this generation to the next. HAHA!! So, in order to make this post accurate, I had to have a MATER SAMMICH for breakfast!! All in the scheme of research, of course!!
summertime means tomato time!!!
summertime means tomato time!!!
So, it was a tomato sandwich for breakfast and FRIED GREEN TOMATOES for dinner last night!! For the sake of accuracy, I have one thing to say YUM YUM!!
Yep, nothing beats two slices of white bread smeared with mayonnaise and loaded with fresh, sliced tomatoes and a lil salt!

Update to the Hunting Camp
Shocked! Shocked, I tell ya.........at how fast these dudes can put a house together! Seriously. Last week when I was there, they were starting to frame up the roof. It was half done. Yesterday, cap'n took me up there and the whole roof is on AND the porches. Ya'll. I'm talking porches here...I could not believe how unbelievably cool these porches are gonna be! All I could say was WOW. the grandkids will have all the playroom they need under these porches as well as laps made by mom and dads looking for their kids!! Looky!!
Most of the clearing is finished......Look now!
And the view from the hunting fields up to the house!
Like I said............those dudes are fast!
Here is a picture that I plan to blow up and frame to hang in the camp. The original hunting dudes of Low Water Crossing....their new camp!

A Family/Friends/Baby Crazy Weekend!
Last weekend, Memorial Day weekend, we had all the family gathered round and when it's a holiday and it's sunny and warm......friends also tend to gather round too. Which is just how we like it!! As our Lilli likes to say....."EVERBODY" came!! And when lots of adults and kids gather round, there needs to be lots of food. We cooked hamburgers and fries for breakfast! Fried fish and hushpuppies one night. On Sunday, the cap'n barbequed everything that the grocery store had on hand....ribs, pork roast, chicken, sausage, boudin.........and all of it was delish! Only got a few pics..
Now, THATS a hamburger!!
An appetizer that my bud, ms. clisa, told me about. It was a hit with everyone. Tomato, tortellini, cheese, salami and ham with fresh basil marinated in a creamy balsamic dressing. I made a chipotle ranch dip for it too.
Josh and Hailey with their nephew, Austin! Hailey surprised all of us gals with a lil surprise. She is a pinterest fan and saw a cute lil project....well, she made it for us and we were amazed how precious it turned out!!
Our family pic saturated in olive oil in a mason jar with spanish moss and each jar contained a dried rose that her husband, my babyboy, has given her! Is that too cool or what??!!
One lil memory maker...........Austin's first time to swim!!
the pic below is a classic......Dad, Son and Brother/Uncle!!
On Sunday, we had 8 babies under the age of 4 in the pool at one time!! So. Much.Fun!!! They were everywhere...I got dizzy just trying to keep count of all of 'em! I loved this moment because my oldest son and two of his high school baseball buddies are all together with THEIR children.....that was pretty cool to me!
Lilli had so much fun with all of her friends!
