Ms. Lilli at Play!

What does ms. sweetcheeks look like before she goes down the slide? And at Gymboree? I got to visit her during her "class" last week and I tried to get pictures....do you know how hard it is to get a shot in focus on a 19 month old WHILE playing with Jimbo and about 10 other toddlers??!!! I laughed and laughed watching her "take charge" of her class!!

Girly-Girl weekend!!

This past weekend, my oldest son was doing his thang with the Fantasy Football dealio and had a bunch of boys coming over to spend the weekend. And his sweet wife asked if I wanted to play while they did that! Um.....duh......yeah, whaddaya think??!!! So I drive over to Dallas, hook us up with a sweet hotel and we proceed to do girl stuff. As in shop! Eat! Laugh! and did I mention eat? heh! Her lil pregnant belly is starting to pop and her smile is infectious. Why....I think I even heard my grandson say Hi YaYa!! We also went to look at their new house, which they are planning to close on, on the 7th of Sept!! (they have SO much excitement in their lives right now...they deserve every second of it!) Of course, we had to celebrate! Me with my lil dirty martini and she with her sprite and a cherry!

We had a lil spa time and then we found this!! We looked at bebe nursury stuff and house stuff and then ..... well.......we did a whole lotta this!
Fried green maters! Best ever blue cheese wedge salad! Eggs Benedict! Salmon & Avocado tartare! Three lil pigs...pulled pork sammies! Of course, we didn't have all of this at once but man, oh man.........we ate some good stuff!! Since we were too stuffed to have dessert after dinner one night, we took it home and had it for breakfast!!
GOOD TIMES!!

It's Almost That Time Again!

What happens after the month of August? You may think 'end of summer' or 'school starting'....um, nada. Not in this family! Labor Day weekend hails the beginning of hunting season and if you asked my boys, they could prolly tell you how many hours until the first shot sounds!! Last weekend was clean-up time at the hunting camp and we went to ride around and let the boyfriend shoot some skeet. Would hunting season open without some practice rounds? I don't think so!! They're all like a bunch of kindergarteners on the first day of school!!!!and after the practice, the "talks" begin! Oh...........how I love my family!! And WAIT...............it's almost time for something else.......

Sleepin' Buds

This is Bromley. He is the little man that belongs to my 3rd daughter in law and my babyboy. This is SophieJane wondering why Bromley is playing hide and seek in her toy pile...you have to look closely to distinguish Brom from the toys! So, while we were gone on our trip, Sophie stayed at Bromley's house and while the first day was a leetle testy....meaning sophie growled alot at bromley, they became good friends again. It always takes them a few hours to get used to each other. So, Sophie loves to sleep under the covers leaning up against me and I was a bit worried that my son was not going to be very keen on having a dog in his bed. Well.........................look at the pic I received one day that cracked me UP so much that I had to look at it over and over again!!
(you can see my DIL's foot holding up the covers!!! Is that not the cutest picture ever???!!!!)

More Mexico!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.....yes! THE FOOD!! Because I'm a foodie, which that definition for me just means that I love to eat beautiful, tasty food AND take pictures of it, I have a few lil morsels to write about! One of the first things I think of when going to the beachy city is their guacamole and chips. And I can make a pretty good guac....but there's just something about the amount of fresh lime, the cilantro and the avocados, themselves, from there that just make it divine. And those burnt chips.....how I do love those thick slabs of corn deliciousness that have been overcooked to perfection! Upon arriving at our location, my first need was the guac and chips. Sorry this pic is a lil messy but I was too excited when it first came to me, untouched in all its glory, to take a pic...heheh... Our first morning there, mah boyfriend and I walked into town for breakfast. We found a nice lil place further back from the main street of town and the food was y-u-m-m-y! Mine was a huge burrito filled with oh, so deliciouso stuff like the eggs, meats, many kinds of peppers all wrapped up in the most wonderful fresh tortilla that had been toasted on a griddle. But the even better part was the sauces and pico to ladle over the top! And because I can never turn down the fresh fruit platters there.........I had that too! One evening, my buddy found a glorious place for us to eat dinner. We walked and found it only to discover that it was the exact same place where my son and his bride had their wedding reception 6 yrs ago this coming Saturday! This made it not only a fun night with great food for me, but also a sentimental evening as well! They make THE best caesar salad from scratch, tableside, ever. OMG. That dressing? To die for.

Each morning, my sweet boyfriend, would bring me coffee and a freshly made pastry to have on the porch of our room!
This one will prolly gross some out but I absolutely adore whole, fried fish there. This one was enjoyed on the ocean side of Cozumel at a lil local restaurant called Chen Rio. It was Snapper. And it was muey bien........I also speak spanish now!!
One more and I'll quit....promise! One of our last nights there, our friends had this unbelievable combo......wish I'd ordered it. Crab, lobster, shrimp... It was some kinda good!

Mexico of 2011!

Our trip was wonderful! We did nothing but lie in our beach chairs, have a few cocktails, eat alot of food and laugh with our friends. My idea of a wunnerful vacation!! First photos are some shots of our little quirky hotel room and its view. We love this place...have stayed here every time we've visited! v So our good buddies from the Pacific Northwest (we call 'em Yanks or Turks!) joined us on this little adventure and the laughing began! We even attended a wedding of some friends of ours while there. #2 daughter in law was a bridesmaid....a very pretty one, I may add!

some funny moments!Every night when we came "home", there would be a different towel fold on our bed...cute!
...to be continued...

Poor YaYa!...of a lil girl...

I've never done hair!! Never combed a child's hair in my life! I'm the mom of three BOYS....combing hair to us meant a good shake of the head. Or towel dry....for the really short cuts. So, when ms Lilli stayed with me last week, I wanted to do hair. BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW......:( :(. Factor in that she's 18 months and doesn't stay still for long.....with a yaya who doesn't know how to tie a hairbow...............and well...................this is kinda how her pigtails turned out!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! But on a face like this?? How can anything look wrong?and when she turned to me and said, "YaYa....p-tays"........You know what happened!!
(have so many mehico pics to show but the day is way too pretty to be sitting at computer...promise to show them next week!)
