Sex.....Part Deux

Gotcha again!! bwahahahahaha!!

Whew..........long, party weekend. But finally back to finish our Sex and the City story.....

So, we all met up about 5 Thursday afternoon in a beautiful suite at one of the casinos downtown. I had gotten there early and fluffed up the living area just a bit. Flowers, boas, lotsa bubbly and snacks. Everyone started arriving and the corks began popping! Birthday girl opened some prezzies and by 6 we went downstairs to find out limo waiting for us. Off to the movie....it was good. Personally, I didn't think it was as good as the first one but come on......sitting in the theatre with really good friends and family and laughing our butts off?.....well, doesn't get much better! Back to the limo and to a beautiful restaurant where lil individual surprises awaited everyone ~hmmmmm....wonder how those got there?!!! We enjoyed delicious wine and a martini or two with yummy prime rib, crab cakes, seafood ravioli, beef filet, shrimp cocktail, salads...........and the nicest part? No rush. We sat there and talked and laughed and enjoyed a meal together. What better way to celebrate friendship, right? Over a good meal and even better wine? Yep..........memories that will stay with me forever. And ever. SO. MUCH. FUN.!! thank you to all my buddies who came to play and make this such a special night!

Birthday girl's surprise when our waiter brought all of us desserts that looked like this! Of course, this came after she had asked him to come home and read her a story...hahahah....he did kind of look like Denzel Washington!!

I am a cocktail napkin whore....meaning I looooooooove them and cannot help picking up all I see that make me laugh. So, when I saw these, I knew they would be the perfect napkins for our night!

Yes....Life is Good.........and I'm a very lucky girl!!

WHAT an amazing day and night!! We had so much fun and the best way for me to describe it is like this: A fun, fun memory was made ... one that I hope my grandchildren will hear about one day and it will make them smile!!

The Creeping Crabs!!

I was the lucky winner of this fantastic painting in a giveaway hosted by Jane at Artfully Graced! She named her painting Creeping Crabs and immediately when I saw it I thought of the girl's names!! HeeHee! Check out her blog...she is really talented and posts some really thought provoking topics. I found her because she loves all things 'beachy'! So............I haven't hung it yet because I'm working on a wall that I want to re-do with only art from my friends. Will show that to you when I get it done. I DO love seeing cindy, charlotte and ceecee beside my other gal pal from Venezuela! I collect "ladies" from all the places we travel to. My boyfriend found this one for me and she is, by far, my fave! And doesn't she look cute beside the creeping crabs??!!!

Oil Spill or not..............

In typical jmac fashion, an idea came to this ol' head and in a matter of two days..........it became a reality!! Gathering up the chicks....4 of us......even gonna pick up one along the way who is flying in from far far away....you remember? that cool lisa peep! and leaving out next weekend for a week of sunshine, sand in our cracks, and lots and lots of laughing! No rules. No bitchin'. Just sharing and a leetle vino drinking, reading and sleeping on the beach!!
Heaven, I tell ya................pure bliss!

What Can I Say??

TOO CUTE FOR ANY WORDS!!!And really??? How much MORE proud can a gal be than to be the mother of these gorgeous boys? Not to mention a beautiful daughter in law and the BFF to my babyboy! And YaYa to Lilli!

Everytime I see my son with his daugher, my heart turns to gold....laced with drops of love that cannot be contained!!

ON the hanger....

....which we all know does NOT look at beautiful as it will OFF the hanger and ON ms. Lilli!!

BUT...........I had the honor of being able to go shopping for her christening gown with babymama and aunt rachel. What a fun day it was! Shopping with my two daughter in laws, eating, having everyone in the world tell us how cute ms. thang is................well, doesn't get much better than that for this ol' YaYa!! Of course, ms. Lilli had the last say on which one we would decide on!

And then we had a lil mock fashion show with the queen!

Her christening will be this Sunday and imagine my pride when my daughter-in-laws decided that this gown would become a family heirloom! That every girl born into our family would wear this for their christenings/baptisms and then pass it down to the next generation. Well, lemme just tell ya, my heart almost burst open with love. And yes........even some Lilli Love!!

Part II of Camp Critters...

In my previous post about the sweet mama turtle doin' her thang......I mentioned that we were going to retrieve the eggs and try to keep them safe until their birth day. I'll just let the pics tell the story!

The only "proper" home for new babies is, of course, an LSU bucket!

YAY!!!!!!!!! Gonna be so fun to watch this summer! Will keep ya posted......Heh!

Critters at the Camp!

Seems like there is always something 'neat' happening at our camp on the river! This is what I found when I drove up into driveway on Friday afternoon in the yard......

Once upon a time, there lived a red earred turtle in the swamps of Uncertain. She decided it was that time. What time is that? you ask? Why *^% pushin' time.....that's what time. Egg layin' time!! The boyfriend was closeby digging a trench for sprinklers and told me she was digging a hole. So, I promptly got my camera and found a spot near her, for an hour or so. And this is what I saw!!

Ploop again! This went on for 9 eggs!

The ground after she had covered up the hole and patted it down.

And then hauling it to the river. I read that once they lay their eggs, they leave them to hatch on their own. Hopefully, if nothing gets them, they will hatch out in 90-100 days. Sad, I know.

And then, this little missy isn't too smart. She tried to go thru the fence...............and was getting stuck. You know labor and birth will kinda mess with a woman's thinking!! :)

But the boyfriend picked her up and headed her in the right direction to jump off the wall back into the water.

And they all are hopefully going to live happily ever after!! Cuz we're gonna dig up the eggs and put them into some dirt to protect them until they hatch!!

Oh......................except for this that I saw swimming in the river while drinking coffee on the deck on Sunday morning!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!! Gonna be a hoot!!

Oysters are our Friends!!! YUM-YUM!!

After reading Louie's post from Mountain Mermaid, I started craving oysters. I love me up some yummy slime, also known as oysters, that come from the Gulf. They are big, succulent, a little bit salty and oh so deliciousi-oso! I have had some tasty small ones from the Pacific coast and they are good but I always go back to those great big sloppy ones......for most people, these gulf oysters are 2 biters...........nope, not for me. Just one big gulp and a slurp and down they go!!! Now of course, I'm speaking of raw oysters but also love some fried ones too. Last week, I asked my boyfriend to bring home a big ol' bucket from the seafood store.....he knew better and only brought home a lil container, cooked 'em up for us and we consumed all! 1/2 raw and 1/2 fried.

Alot of us around here are worried about the supply of these precious gems because of the oil spill and worry that we won't be able to get them as freely as normal. Many oyster beds were shut down after Katrina and the spill may have a much worse effect on the pearl harboring shells of yumminess. So............I got my fix for awhile and will only hope that we'll still be able to get them later in summer.

"Oyster production is the most likely to be affected, as Louisiana provides 67 percent of the America supply. The article reports so far, few oyster beds have been closed due to the oil spill. Oil can kill oyster larvae, but mature oysters close up when they taste oil, the article said." quote taken from USA Today.

Know What I Love the Most about Mothers Day??

The reason for Mothers Day!! I am so lucky and so proud of my boys!! (I gave us the hearts!...heehee, cuz they are my heart!)

We all went to brunch together today and it was a wonderful time. Every dingle dangle time I look at all of them together, I almost melt into a puddle of mush. They have all grown up into such neat, neat people. I truly can say that I could not have ever dreamed of a more perfect family. Seriously. And then there's this addition to our family that has enriched it even more!

I also love the fact that my boyfriend worked all day long on Saturday for MY mother's day present......he dug up some flower beds and planted a brand new rose bed for me....all with a smile on his face!!

And then, of course, being mom to this little girl is always a hoot!!

I've had the best mothers day weekend. Sure hoping all you out there in blobland and beyond have had a wonderful one too!!
